led a ten or so minute review on wwii today in apwh with burr gone and i'm reminded how much i enjoy teaching, even if i don't know the exact topics of discussion during churchill, stalin, and fdr's allied conferences.

maybe i can lead a classroom one day.

3.28.2011

maybe this is how it'll be.

left ventricle cobalt flames
compacted by the
crushing pressures of
a forever contracting heart

forever thumping
ever-blackberry blood
rushing color to those
honey-maple irises

as they shut themselves from
those quarter til midnight
whizzing outlet malls,
bokeh-ed headlights,
and streaking fastfood neon

because every clavicle has
the same deepened valleys
and eroded crevices
to dampen those
i-oneten potholes and
diesel rumbles as the rest
of the angels in the city surround
are drowsily dazed, signified by
a grid of rural orange streetlights
dotting the outlands
and rolling horizon hills
flickering as if in unison
with the slow heaving tides of
saturday night breaths

it's an electron sea of throbbing hearts,
glanced away by a dozing soul
ever-effusing blackening blood.

i refuse to believe the magic is gone,
no matter how many times 2011 has destroyed it already.

but it's really hard.

3.24.2011

e.c.- it can get better!

j.e.- or worse.
but hey! at least it's really cold and it's going to start raining soon.

The last question on my AP Chem homework:

#65: "After doing Ka calculations, you may wish you had an aspirin. Aspirin is a weak acid..."

I thoroughly appreciate textbook humor.
